Statistical Tools : Help
Why I can not see the statistical programs in my browser ?
All the statistical programs on this website are written in Java Applets.
You need to install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run applications and applets that use Java technology.
To download Java Runtime Environment, go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and download "windows OFFLINE installation" version and install on your computer.
For more information on Java Runtime Environment, please visit : http://java.com/en/download/help/

Tips on activating JAVA applet in your browser :
Nearly all the statistical algorithms are in the form of applets. These are small programs written in JAVA, and attached to the web page.
To be able to use the applets, the computer must be configured appropriately. Computers that are under the control of the Mater IT Department have already been configured, and the applets should run without any difficulties. If the applets are used in your won computer and the applets do not appear, two adjustments may be necessary.
Adjust Security Level. If the security level of your web browser is configured to be high, java applets and other scripts will be blocked.
Go to the menu bar, click on Tools->Internet Option, and access the security page. Set the security level for the Internet to medium of lower. Alternatively, click the customise tab, scroll down to Scripting of java applets, and toggle enable to on.
JAVA Runtime Machine. This was packaged with the older version of Windows, but not so with the lattest version of Windows. Applets will therefore not run in the newer XP Windows without installing the JRM. If you have a MAC or your operating system is Linux, the JRM is usually available, but you should check and make sure, and if it is not available you may also need to install it.
